Tournaments

NCASA sanctions numerous tournaments around the state of varying levels for the benefit of adult play development. 

The NC Adult Soccer Association hosts the Annual State Cup for North Carolina. This tournament, with its long competitive history, is our premier tournament. The State Cup Champions may qualify to advance to one of the USASA's National Tournaments.  

Apart from local tournaments, in association with the US Adult Soccer Association, NCASA teams are also eligible to participate in tournaments across Region III and around the country.

If your team is interested in traveling to a tournament OUTSIDE of North Carolina, you are required to complete and submit a Travel Clearance Application for approval.

The most widely attended Out of State tournament by our teams is the Charleston International Cup.

The tournament offers recreational and competitive brackets in Men's, Women's, Open, Over 30/ 40, as well as a Men's and Women's Over 50.

USASA National Cup

NCASA’s most competitive teams go to The USASA National Cup!

Established in 1914, this is the oldest and most prestigious soccer tournament in the United States. The completion begins at the State level, then teams advance to the Regional Competition and the regional Champions compete for the National Title.

USASA Coed Cup

The United States Adult Soccer Association, USASA, established the Coed Cup in 1999 to provide a national competition for the coed soccer players in the United States.   Teams are allowed 25 registered players on their roster for each game. 

Held annually in October, there are multiple competitions to suit all competitive levels and age groups: Open 1st Division (very competitive), Open 2nd Division (competitive), Open 3rd Division (recreational), Over 30 and Over 40.  Each division winner receives medals and the national championship trophy.

The runners-up also receive medals and a trophy.

USASA Veteran's Cup

The Veterans Cup was founded by the United States Adult Soccer Association in 1998 to provide the highest level of competition for players that are 30 years older and above.

Throughout the years the tournament has been held in Bellingham, Washington; Nashua, New Hampshire; Beckley, West Virginia; Honolulu, Hawaii; and Wilmington, North Carolina (in 2005, 2006).

189 teams participated in the Veterans Cup in 2007-08 in Bellingham, Washington. 209 teams took part in the event in 2009-10 in Lancaster, Massachusetts.

NCASA Tournaments

NCASA State Cup

NCASA hosts the Annual State Cup for North Carolina to determine a State Champion. This tournament has longest competitive history and is North Carolina's most prestigious event. 

The tournament is held over three weekends and offers competitions in 9 divisions. 

State Cup champions may qualify to advance to one of the USASA's National Tournaments. Competitions for Men and Women Open, amateur, Over 30, Over 40, Over 50 and Coed.

This year, Men and Women Open, Amateur Divisions will be held in Bryan Park, Greensboro October 29-30, 2011

We are now registering for Men/Women Open, Amateur Divisions! Click here for an application/instructions.

Overs' and Coed Divisions will be held in Wilmington, December 3-4, 2011.

NCASA Champions League Tournament

The Champion's League Tournament, held early June of each year is geared for the most competitive team to compete in a Single Elimination Tournament. Teams compete for CASH PRIZES, Uniforms, Trophies and Medals.

The tournament starts with 4 Local Tournaments set up in Aheville, Greensboro, Raleigh and Jacksonville. This tournament is designed to foster inter-league competitions at the local level. The Championship match is part of a Double-Header with the local Professional Teams.

NCASA Cinco De Mayo Tournament

The Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) Tournament is an open tournament held in Greensboro’s Bryan Park. NCASA ewill be establishing this tournament to reach out to our Hispanic soccer tournament. 

This tournament also functions as a celebration of Mexican Heritage for many  of our players that have Immigrants on the roster, as well as First generation Americans, and anyone interested in Cinco de Mayo and Soccer!

NCASA Women's State Championship

One of the oldest local adult tournaments. Traditionally, this is the “wake up for spring” tournament, held the last weekend of February; the tournament is attended by many. It is just what teams do every year in NC to get ready for the spring season.

ABASA Beer City Cup

Hosted by ABASA, Many of the locally crafted beer companies and restaurants sponsor the event. The city of Asheville is such an attraction that teams come from Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee to compete.

Held annually during labor day weekend.

Families visit the Biltmore Estate, visit the downtown festival and the other attractions in Asheville while the soccer players play at the beautiful J.B. Lewis complex.
